There was quite a good (but distant) lightning display later, but it weakened just as it closed in.
What's this? A mid level funnel? A 'piece' of contrail? It lasted at least 6-7mins. You can see the rather ordinary mid level cloud it 'originated' from, with perhaps tells me it wasn't a funnel... It certainly looked like a funnel though! There was quite a good (but distant) lightning display later, but it weakened just as it closed in.
