The shear was pushing these storms away too quickly! Already offshore now.
Obviously unstable midlevels One of my favourite clouds - altocumulus castellanus! Plenty of cirrus at sunset. Anvil cirrus on the horizon. A storm moved through quickly with some lightning, but then this one showed up, with much more.
